IgniteData receive part of £90m continuity support

READING, UNITED KINGDOM, 30 June 2020]. IGNITE DATA are set to benefit from a continuity support package providing businesses with up to £250,000 to mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

  • £90 million of funding to support current Innovate UK participants who have an ongoing project.
  • IGNITE DATA’s virtual research automation platform ‘Archer’ to benefit from the funding.
  • Investment comes as part of a wider £1.25 billion business support package announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak last month.

Up to £90m was made available in continuity grants, paid upfront, to SMEs and third sector organisations who are existing Innovate UK award holders to ensure the success and delivery of new innovation during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The funding will support ‘Archer’, ground-breaking software to prepopulate clinical research databases (EDC) directly from medical records (EHR), thereby speeding up clinical studies and reducing the need for expensive onsite monitoring.

The project will change the way study data is collected by automating some of the 13-69% of data it is estimated could have been prepopulated straight from patient medical records, but currently isn’t.

Dan Hydes, CEO, IGNITE DATA:

“We want to thank Innovate UK and Rishi Sunak for making this funding available. It has been a tough year for many businesses, not least those challenging the status quo with tech Innovation. With this additional funding, we have now secured the accelerated delivery of ‘Archer’”

Richard Yeatman, CTO, IGNITE DATA:

“Delivering technical innovation under the current circumstances is not easy. With this support, we have taken a huge step in further driving exciting new technology into the UK digital health space”

Tim Virdee, Chairman, IGNITE DATA:

“As a British company backed by its own Government, we are proud to be pioneering the technology that will be used in clinical trials across the globe in the future.”
